Consistently, Inconsistent. What do I do : consistently inconsistent.

So today I want to talk about one of the BIGGEST things I see with people in this industry. They’re consistently, inconsistent. It’s a natural thing. I’ve been there myself, and so have the majority of people I’ve worked with since I joined this industry.

You see the problem with the majority of people that join a network marketing business is that they’ve never owned their own business. They are clueless when it comes to proper time management, tracking, marketing, and they try a few things and after it doesn’t work they give up, quit, or try something new for a couple more weeks and quit again. One of the biggest challenges in this industry is the lack of proper training by someone’s upline. I see a lot of people making RIDICULOUS claims of wealth like. “Make 10k a month doing NOTHING”, “This is so easy even a BABY can do it!”, “No Experience Necessary, Make 100,000.00 a year!”, etc. You know what happens when you market yourself, and your business that way? You get lazy people! People that are UNWILLING to do what you’re doing right now… Which is reading an article like this, watching a 1 or 2 hour webinar that will show them how to prospect, market, handle common objections, etc.

We live in a society where people want it NOW, they want immediate gratification. Well guess what? Network marketing is the WRONG place to get instant gratification. This industry requires time, knowledge, money to invest, money to market, personal growth, sometimes it requires letting go of what you’ve been taught to do by your upline. You know the things that usually don’t work. Like chasing your friends and family (Who probably aren’t qualified to be in your business to begin with). Going to the mall to pass out flyers, putting flyers at apartment complexes, stopping everyone within 3 feet of you to vomit your business opportunity on them.

How do I KNOW this stuff doesn’t work for 93% of most network marketers. Well for one thing, I’ve done all the above. In fact I did that when I first got started in this industry. I did it BLINDLY for 3 months with ZERO results. I didn’t sponsor a single person, didn’t acquire a new customer. What I DID do was waste a  lot of time and money on marketing that doesn’t work. I KNEW there had to be an easier way to build my network marketing business. I also KNEW that my friends and family just were not a FIT for my business. Nothing against them, but they just weren’t like me. They thought having a 9 to 5 job was all there was and they were okay with that.

I wanted to work with people JUST LIKE ME! People with a strong desire to succeed, that were passionate about helping others, and that wanted to build a residual income in my primary company. So I started browsing the web in search for answers and as I looked I realized that in order to be successful in network marketing it was going to take a lot of work, and quite a bit of time. There is NO EASY BUTTON. I will say that again there is NO EASY BUTTON. I don’t care what people promise, what the hype is, there simply is NO EASY BUTTON.

I don’t know about you but I am okay with working hard. I’ve always been a hard worker but for ONCE in my life I was working hard on something that was MINE. Something that I controlled. For the first time in my life I couldn’t blame anyone else but ME for my success for failure, and I LOVED it. It took me a while to develop that entrepreneurial mindset. To manage my time, create a daily activity tracker. I now plan my day a week in advance because otherwise the day plans me around it. I refuse to let that happen.

So how do you go from being consistently inconsistent to someone with consistency? Well first of all you have to start somewhere.

What do you want to learn? Where do you want to be in your business and HOW will you get there?

For me it was learning how to use the internet to build my network marketing business. Luckily for me I found a system that had all the answers to the questions I had when I started my search.

How market? How to prospect? How to overcome objections? How to generate leads for my business? How to network? all of these and TONS more were answered.

I want to share this platform with you so you can see just how truly amazing it is. I went from chasing friends and family and dealing with CONSTANT rejection, to generating over 350+ leads so far in the month of October, and about the same each month prior. Did you hear me? 300+ people to talk to about my business in ONE month. How many people to you talk to about your business each month? 5-25? Maybe 50+ if your a hustler. I will say this again there is NO EASY BUTTON, but is it worth it? YES! For me it was either quit this industry, or learn how to market myself and build my business.

Notice how I said market MYSELF. That’s one of the things I learned early on. I learned that it’s not your business opportunity that people join it’s YOU that they join. Pretty simple huh? If it really was that simple then why do most network marketers talk NON STOP about their biz opp and so little about themselves? What happens if your biz opp goes under? What if something better comes along? Now you’ve got to explain “Why THIS biz opp is better than that LAST biz opp” to your downline.. Doesn’t sound like much fun to me!

So with that being said. I want to show you the kind of results you can get when your consistent in your business. For me my consistency is now in learning proper online marketing, lead generation, prospecting, and applying those skills in my business. I don’t know about you but I will NOT be a part of the 93% failure rate in this industry, and the good news is that YOU don’t have to be a part of it either. If you’re willing to COMMIT, and you’re willing to work HARD, and apply yourself then success CAN and WILL be yours. If not then the reality is that you will probably not make it in this industry and you should probably make sure you don’t quit your day job, or perhaps some time of traditional employment is for you.

Warm Marketing Kinda Sucks!

What is Warm Marketing:

It’s the worst. You join a network marketing company, and the first thing you’re told to do is to make a list of everyone you’ve ever met since birth, including the mailman, otherwise known as your warm market.

They give you a memory jogger form that is supposed to make sure you don’t forget anyone.

Then you’re supposed to contact all these people and tell them you’re an idiot. Of course, that’s not exactly how it’s presented, but that’s what your prospect thinks when you call. You’re actually supposed to reconnect with that old college buddy you haven’t heard from in 20 years, and then pitch them. You can hit up the pizza delivery guy or the store clerk, or your 2nd grade teacher.

You’ll even have what’s called your chicken list. This is the list of people that you’re afraid to call, expecting the ultimate in humiliation. They’re the big fish though, so you’ve got to go for it.

Your upline and the guru’s will tell you to just get over it. After all, you’re doing them a favor. You’re just inviting them and asking them to be open minded.

But unless your prospect has been living in isolation since birth, they already know what network marketing is, and they think you’re a fool. Sorry… it’s true.

Yes, even your grandma thinks you’re an idiot.

That is the essence of warm marketing. Humiliating yourself.

No more warm marketing!

Like you, I did it. I paid my dues. I even signed some of them up. Quite a few, actually.

But I’ll never do it again.

Why? It just sucks. It’s no fun. Does it work? Maybe sometimes. But it sucks!

Now, it doesn’t mean I wouldn’t talk about my business with people that I know are interested already. It doesn’t mean that you should be ashamed of what you’re doing. Network marketing, done right, is awesome. Done right.

Why warm marketing is a terrible strategy:

Ok. So forget about humiliation for a minute. Let’s assume you’re immune to it. Fine.

Let’s look at the results. Let’s say you get some relatives, friends or acquaintances to sign up. Did you qualify them first? Did you stop to consider their aptitude for network marketing? Or their attitude? Or their motivation level?

From a recruiting standpoint, warm marketing has the advantage of pressure. That’s why you’re told to do it. You can sign up your grandma because she simply doesn’t want to tell you no. So you probably signed up people who have no real intention of actually doing anything. They’re just biding their time until they can gracefully bow out, without hurting your feelings.

So in the end, you will have spent a ton of time on a pointless venture.

Now, before you get all upset, yes… warm marketing works sometimes for a few people. So does putting sticky notes on gas station pumps. For a few people. So does hitting up strangers in the produce section. For a few people.

But if these strategies, really worked, why do 99% of network marketers fail miserably? Those few successes in MLM just aren’t duplicatable.

The warm marketing alternative

So what’s the opposite of warm marketing? Cold marketing? No. Cold marketing, or cold calling, is equally a waste of time.

The solution lies in target marketing. Any halfway decent marketing professional knows that you must target your market.

It just makes sense. If you have a wealth generating opportunity, find people who are looking for that. Simple, right?

The internet now makes it simple.

It used to be harder to target your market. It used to be that the only way was through expensive TV, radio or newspaper ads. But not any more.

The internet has put the final nail in the warm marketing coffin. Target your market to find people who are already open to what you’re offering because they need your solution. Only show your opportunity to people who approach you for help. Don’t waste your time, or your pride, any more.

How to handle common MLM objections.

Objections

Objections are an inevitability with recruiting in network marketing. Even some of your most serious prospects will have objections just prior to signing up.

It’s actually a good sign because they are either 1) slowing down the process to ensure they understand everything before they make that big decision or 2) they are testing you to evaluate your strength as a  good sponsor and that you are the leader they are seeking.

Here are some important points in handling objections:

  • Neutralize Objections-always validate their objection by complimenting and/or agreeing with the prospect’s concerns. This acts to decrease the Objections potency. Good Objection Phrases can be: “I can respect that.” “I can appreciate that.” “Thanks for sharing that concern.” “That’s exactly how I felt when I first started.
  • You can actually bring up the objection yourself before the prospect does, thereby deflecting it before it even occupies their mind.
  • Assume the sale.
  • Always make sure you have appropriately went through a ‘discovery process’ with your new prospect. This is a process where you build rapport and gain their trust as well as recognize their ‘why’.
  • When possible, reply to their questions and concerns with a question. As long as you are the one doing the asking, you will hold all the power.

OK so here are those dreaded objections…..

1) How much money are you making?

Best Response: “It’s not about how much money I am making, it’s about how much money you are capable of earning.”

This focuses the question back onto them. You want them to know it is irrelevant whether you are making $200 or $20,000/month, what is relevant is the kind of success they can obtain. Stress the opportunity, if they can see that it is a great opportunity than you have them sold.  Their success is limited only by their own limitations, not someone elses and that is the beauty of being in business for themselves.

2) Not sure I can afford it.

This question is dependent on your discovery process. Have you established their why? If it has anything to do with earning more money, then you need to re-direct them back to this.

“You shared with me earlier that you value having enough money to put your kids through college.” (or wanted more money for retirement, or more money to spend more time at home with your family, etc.)

or, “If I could show you a way to create a positive cash flow for your family without changing what you are currently doing, would you be opposed to looking at what I have to offer?”

Again, you are addressing their objection with a question, you are making them think inward and reflect, rather them asking you all the questions and having to defend yourself.

3) I don’t have the time.

Make their objection become their reason.

You can ask, “If you keep doing what you are currently doing, do you think that over the next 5 years you will have either more or less time?  With network marketing you can leverage your time through the efforts of others.”

or, “If I can show you a way to get some of your time back by leveraging the efforts of others, would you be willing to carve out 7-10 hours per week towards this goal?”

or, “Prior to joining this business, someone once asked me what the definition of insanity was. They told me it is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Do you agree with this definition?”

or, “Do you want to continue spending all your time building someone elses dreams or is it time you devoted your precious time towards building your own dreams?

4) I don’t like to sell or I don’t know how to sell.

“That’s great because neither do I! We encourage people to hand out tools to do the talking for them with a professionally crafted presentation. You are the messenger, not the message.”

or, “Did you ever mention a great restaurant or movie to a friend? Did you ever get paid for the recommendation? Our business will pay you for recommending something that you already believe in and which holds value to you.”

or, “The other part of our business is about coaching and working with and inspiring a team. Would you have any problems inspiring others if it were to directly benefit you financially?”

5) Is this a pyramid scheme?

Edify your company through third party validation. Emphasize the sustainability and soundness of your business and financial model.

A great way around this objection is to outline the similarities network marketing has with the business models of the insurance and real estate industries.

You could mention famous people who have been involved in, actively promote or started network marketing companies in recent years: Robert Kiyosaki (see “Business of the 21st Century”), Donald Trump, Warren Buffet, Richard Branson-all are billionaires thanks to network marketing.

The key is to not get into a fighting match, do not try to convince. But if your company has some impressive data and credibility, now is the time to bring this up. The facts will speak for themselves. It’s even better if you have a physical copy of a well-known publication, (i.e. Money Magazine, Forbes, etc.) with your company being featured or awarded in it.

6) I was burned by another company. How will I be treated differently?

Ask probing questions. Identify how the individual was “burned” by their last company. Where they promised X amount of money or success and it never happened? Did they lack the proper training, marketing skills, and prospecting knowledge? Did their upline abandon them? Were they not passionate about the product/business? Find out what their biggest fear is and address it with a solution. Remember that no one can make a guaranteed income in this industry its based on effort, hard work, and mindset.

Ways to Profit in Your First 30 Days in MLM

Now that you’re all signed up, excited and ready to build a thriving business, it’s time to consider exactly what you need to do in the first 30 days to turn a profit.

In the Network Marketing Industry, there’s basically 2 ways to generate an income. They are:

1. Retail
2. Recruiting

Although there are several steps involved in each process, we are going to focus on what you need to know to turn a profit in the first 30 days of building your business.

#1) Retail

When you initially attended your company meeting, or were exposed to the opportunity, there was obviously something that made you a believer in your company and what they have to offer.

Whether it was the compensation plan, the products or just the culture, you found something that you felt you could share with others to help impact their lives like yours was impacted.

When it comes to sharing your product and gaining customers, your passion, belief and enthusiasm are critical. However, there are a few additional elements that you MUST consider before racing off to spread the word about your company and their products with the world, which are:

A. What need does your product serve?
B. Who wants what you have to offer and are ready to buy it today?
C. Why do they want it? (What benefit will they get from owning and purchasing your product?)
D. Why should they buy it from you?

As convinced as we often are about the benefits of our company products and how everyone could benefit from them, you still want to consider the needs of your potential buyers and how their quality of life will be enhanced because of buying this product.

Network Marketing is a sales business, and in order to retail as many products as possible, you have to implement the sales process, which is:

A. Build a rapport with your potential customer
B. Ask questions to create a need
C. Listen intently
D. Share how your product will solve their problem
E. Get the commitment and Seal the deal

The more conversational you become with your prospects without trying to “push” the sale on them, the more you’ll find them closing themselves on the products just by asking them the right questions and allowing them the freedom to talk and share with you exactly what their hot buttons are that you can sell them on!

#2) Recruiting

The true leverage in building yore business is in building a team of people who duplicate your efforts, while increasing the volume and profits of your organization. This is often the most feared aspect of the business because we often associate our “new recruits” with family and friends that we assume are going to dodge us at the next family gathering.

Recruiting however, can actually be the most exciting part of the business if you “change your mindset” about what recruiting really is. Although you have personal numbers and goals you want to meet so that you can earn a nice paycheck, recruiting shouldn’t just be viewed as a payday. It’s actually an opportunity to impact and change someone’s life, while opening a door for them to discover financial freedom and a whole new way of living.

There’s so much more to joining a Network Marketing business than making money. Of course that’s a critical part of why people join, but there are also the benefits of connecting with positive people, enhancing your personal development and learning your strengths and weaknesses. There are also opportunities to go to places you never imagined, and even potentially work for yourself fully, without ever going back to clocking in at a 9 to 5.

The minute you can learn to interpret the benefits of your new “Millionaire Fraternity or Sorority”, you will find that people are dying to go with you to the next meeting, just to meet some of the inspiring leaders that you’ve been boasting about.

To recruit effectively, share the benefits of being connected, rather than forcing them in for a paycheck. They will be able to see the difference, and you will too when it comes to your paycheck!

What is a Squeeze Page?

A video Squeeze Page is a great way to start building relationships with your customers and potential customers right from the get-go, even before they enter in their contact details. While a standard text Squeeze Page with a compelling headline will work just fine if done correctly, a video is sure to draw your visitors in before they even start to read your page.

The video that you add to your Squeeze Page can be a demonstration of your product or service, or it can be a welcome from you, yourself, or maybe even a testimonial from someone else. It is generally recommended that a person appear in the video because the customer then gets a feel for who he or she is dealing with, rather than just the product or service that he or she considering handing over his or her contact details for.

Making a video that influences your audience to do what you would like does require some thought and effort, and possibly a little bit of training. The actual video creation itself involves conceiving the idea, shooting the video with professional equipment, editing, and text that will enhance the video. Now, if you are just starting out, you can very easily use a video squeeze page template, or you can hire someone to help you do a more customized, professional job. Keep in mind that experienced squeeze page designers will be able to tell you right away what works and what doesn’t, therefore saving you a great deal of time.

It’s also important to note that your page should be search engine optimized correctly with the right keywords and keyword phrases. You can also do this or learn how to do it on your own, but again, a professional can really help you out with this aspect of your squeeze page as well in terms of saving you time and effort.

As with text squeeze pages, this video type of squeeze page will have four main elements:

1. A compelling headline (along with a pre-header and a sub-header if you decide to do it that way)

2. Bullet points explaining the benefits of what you are offering, testimonials (optional), and the opt-in form.

3. Your page should be simple and uncluttered, and it should be very obvious what you want the visitor to do. Often squeeze pages will have arrows pointing to the opt-in form, for example.

4. A call to action should be in the video as well.

If you aren’t ready to invest in a professional designer, you can go for the many video squeeze page templates that are available today online. You’ll be able to find hundreds of these by doing a serach on Google. In most cases, there is space provided for the video on the left, with the opt-in form on the right. Just embed the video, change and add the text as needed, and you are off to a good start with your new squeeze page.

Tips for successful networking!

We all make use of traditional forms of getting new business in – advertising, direct mail, brochures etc but Networking is one form of marketing which, has been under-utilised. Until now that is. Small business owners are finally beginning to under stand the power of Networking and what it can do for their sales figures.

But what is networking?

In its most basic form, it’s word-of-mouth advertising but originated by you, not your customers. It involves taking every opportunity to raise awareness of your product or service amongst the people you meet. At a more sophisticated level, Networking can be achieved by taking advantage of the formal networking groups or events that have been arranged purely with the idea of putting potential partners together.

But how can you, as a small business owner, become a more effective networker and take full advantage of the opportunities presented? We are going to give you some key tips and ideas on how to be a better networker.

What are the key advantages of networking?

Networking has some very good advantages over the traditional type of marketing:

• It’s free! Talking to someone costs nothing except your time

• It’s targeted marketing in that it’s likely the person you are talking to has a direct interest in your product or service. Consider newspaper advertising, which will mostly be read by people who have no interest in what you have to offer

• It’s face-to-face marketing unlike direct mail, adverts and telephone calls. You have the immediate opportunity to establish rapport and get an understanding of the person’s problems

• You have the chance to mix with business owners in other industries, which may open the door to new opportunities you had not previously considered

• It’s not only a way of creating business but also a great way to solve problems and seek advice. Why sweat over a solution when someone has probably already experienced and solved the same problem? Ask and find out who can help you

Where to find a networking event..

Finding a place to network, where like minded business owners are present, is not that difficult. Whilst you should be networking all the time – taking the opportunity to promote yourself where ever you can – it’s more effective if you can meet people who are there to do the same thing; you can get onto the same wavelength that much quicker.

Here are some possible networking opportunities to think about:

• Your local Chamber of Commerce, BNI group or business club – as well as hosting their normal meetings (which are great networking opportunities anyway) they may hold regular networking sessions which are dedicated to putting business people together

• Government advice agencies – most countries have government bodies which have the remit of helping local small businesses, some of them may already hold network meetings where they bring together a batch of ‘new recruits’. Check out you country’s small business advice agency web sites to see what support they can offer

• Trade Associations – your industry may have an association which holds regular meetings. Although you are interacting with businesses in the same line you will still be able to find solutions to problems and pick up new ideas. Who knows, if you establish good rapport with another business, they may be happy to refer surplus work to you or tap into a unique specialisation you may have?

• Seminars – keep a look out for seminars being run for small business owners. As well as being informative, they are a great networking opportunity, especially over coffee and lunch when you have the chance to start a conversation going along the lines of, “How do you think you’re going to apply that point we learnt this morning in your line of business?”

In just this one question you will have found out what business they are in and one of the problems they are currently facing. If you’re lucky, you may be able to offer help as well – one extra sale!

• Anywhere and everywhere – remember to network all the time! Never miss an opportunity to tell people what you do. You may only get a successful hit in one out of a hundred contacts, but one sale may be enough to make it all worthwhile!

Where and when are meetings likely to be held?

Formal networking events can be held over breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast sessions are popular because it allows business owners to start the day on a positive note, leaving the remainder of the day free for ‘business as usual’. But how good are you at holding a sensible conversation at 7 o’clock in the morning? If you don’t look or sound your best in the early morning, then you had better find an alternative!

The best networking events are where you are free to ‘work the room’ and not be tied to a table with food being served.

What to prepare:

As with any marketing promotion, networking should be thoroughly prepared for. Badly presented sales pitches lead to lost sales; the same goes for networking. So what should you do before attending a networking session?
Step 1: Know your products and services inside out. If you are only just starting out, make sure you are fully briefed on all the inn’s and out’s of your product.

Step 2: Write and rehearse an opening statement to the question “What do you do?” This may sound an easy question but try thinking an answer on the spot and at the same time making it some good! Not so easy. Write a clear and concise statement, which encapsulates everything about your business. Remember, this is your chance to impress! Having decided on your opening line, rehearse, rehearse and rehearse. It has to be word perfect and confident sounding.

Step 3: Make sure you have enough business cards. You don’t want to scribble your number on the back of a napkin! Not very professional.

Step 4: Double check the venue and time. You don’t want to turn up late and miss any opportunities or appear to be lacking in time management skills.

Step 5: Dress to impress. Make sure you are neat and tidy – everything a successful small business owner should be.

Step 6: Leave your house/office in plenty of time to make sure you don’t arrive totally stressed out

You’re off!

You have arrived at the venue and if this is your first time, what are you likely to do? Find the nearest corner and pray that someone doesn’t approach you! Networking, especially the first time, can be nerve-wracking. It does take a degree of confidence but over time this gets better. Also try the tip listed on my “Is Network Marketing A Scam”  page. List Building Strategy – Squeeze Page

A Squeeze Page is basically the same thing as a capture page. Your goal is to drive traffic to the page and offer something of value in return. Your visitors are then driven to opt-in to the page and get their free offer or training etc. Squeeze Pages are the pages that you will use to generate leads, or business contacts, and eventually sales, so having a professional, converting page is something worth getting. It’s one of the list building techniques that I use in my online marketing.

Where can you get your own high converting Squeeze Page?

If you are just starting out, you can do just fine with a free squeeze page. One site that offers this type of product is 90secondsqueezepage.com Sign up (for free, of course) and then create a basic Squeeze Page by following the directions. You will need to have your own auto-responder from this service to work. I recommend you use Aweber. They have a $1 trial offer discount you can get by clicking HERE.

If you are just looking for Squeeze Page templates, then you also have quite a choice. You can really go into Google and just type in the term “free squeeze page templates” and you’ll get quite a list.

If you have decided to go your own route and design your own free pages, there are some tried and true guidelines that you want to meet. For example, you will want to use a brick red headline, in bold, and possibly followed by a black, bold sub-heading.

Your heading must be compelling – it must grab your visitor’s attention right away and make them want to read or, in the case of a video squeeze page, to listen further. And somewhere right in the beginning, not necessarily in the headline but just under it, you want to tell the visitors exactly what they are going to get. Don’t make them search for what you are offering.

Next, remember that you want the page to be as clear, uncluttered, and simple as possible. Make sure that your visitor knows exactly what you want him or her to do. If your goal is just to get his or her contact details, your opt-in form should be towards the top — don’t make your visitor scroll down because he or she may not get that far. Whatever it is that you are offering in exchange for their contact details has to be good– a free sample, free information, a free consultation. Make sure it is targeted specifically towards your target market.

Testimonials are another key to effective squeeze pages. People want social proof–in other words, the proof that what you are offering has benefited or is benefiting others. Even adding just one testimonial can make a world of difference from having nothing. As with anything else, you will need to test and track your free squeeze page to see what works and what doesn’t.

When it comes to online marketing and network marketing it’s easy to forget where to focus your efforts when trying to build your business both online and offline.

Don’t forget that the majority of your business in network marketing doesn’t come from writing blog posts like this one. It comes from getting on the phone and talking to your prospects. As online marketers we often sit in front of our computers and work on multiple strategies to build our business online, but what about building our Network Marketing business? After all isn’t that why we’re learning the concepts of online marketing? We’re learning them so we can funnel leads into our primary MLM’s right? Leads that will generate revenue through affiliate marketing, representative sponsorship, new customers for our products and more.

So, while online marketing works, it takes time to come to fruition. So in the meantime, we also have to be focused on building our business the way it’s been done before the internet! (Does anyone even remember those days?)

Believe it or not, before the internet there were MANY successful network marketers in our industry..

Jim Rohn didn’t build his business online, he didn’t do article marketing, Twitter, Facebook, and yet he had amazing success!

How did he do it? He got up and talked to people! TONS of them!

So what does that mean for you? We know the power of the internet changes the game for those of us in Network Marketing but it also means that we have to have a well balanced online AND offline approach to our business strategy.

Can we agree that we have to talk to people each day in order to build a downline, find new customers, recruit new distributors and associates, and build a successful MLM business?

If so, then what’s an easy way to start making progress to accomplish our business building goals?

My friend Michelle Pescosolido and her husband Bill Pescosolido attended a recent event and I wanted to share her simple “old school” Prospecting tip with you.

Below is an excerpt from her blog post:

To start out your MLM Prospecting each day, take 10 pennies and put those pennies in your left pocket.  The goal is to move those 10 pennies one by one to the right pocket so that by the end of the day all 10 pennies are now in your right pocket.  Remember your goal EACH day is complete once all 10 pennies are in your right pocket.

Larry Thompson, the great icon from Herbalife used this technique throughout his career and taught his team of distributors to do the same.  He promised his distributor that if they would do the 10 penny strategy everyday consistently for 90 days, then another 90 days, then another and so on…. they would find success.

So, how do you move one penny from the left pocket to the right?

1. Grab 10 pennies every morning and put them in your left pocket.

2. Call and/or make contact with 10 people a day and talk to them about your business.

3. Move a penny over to your right pocket after each conversation whether it’s a yes or no.

4. When you have all the pennies in your right pocket, you’ve obtained your goal for the day!

Pretty simple huh?  Wait, it’s not make contact via an answering machine or an email.  It’s speaking to a live person each day about your business.  The key in the beginning is to not get frustrated with the no’s, but use this penny strategy as a daily plan to keep you focused on exactly what it takes to be successful in your MLM business. It’s all about prospecting and closing. Think of those no’s as a good thing, and a chance for you to move your pennies to the right pocket.  The more no’s you go through the closer you will get to a yes!”
